Thanks.  I didn't realize that the permissions were lost.  I tried to change
it permanently by modifying /etc/udev/rules.d/40-permissions.rules , but
that didn't seem to work.  I've now tried 90-modprobe.rules , in the same
directory, and I'll reboot now.
