Help Locating php5-dev

When I ran "sudo pecl install yaz" in order to install yaz on my Kubuntu
system running PHP 5.1.6, I got the following: Downloading yaz-1.0.7.tgz 5
source files, building

running: phpize

sh: phpize: not found

ERROR: 'phpize' failed

Do I need to find a package called php5-dev?  If so, can anyone point me
toward a site I can add to my sources.list?
