As Dana J. Laude suggested, you could just download the current version from
www.adobe.com,unpack it and install it. If you go that route, you may also
have to create a symlink to usr/local/Adobe/Acrobat7.0/bin/acroread in a
directory in your path (e.g. in /usr/bin) so browsers, etc., can launch it.
Or, as Henri Girard suggested, use automatix (go to
http://getautomatix.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installation
and follow the instructions)
