automate wireless + i8kmon + conky

Try using network manager (and its associated applet for kde or gnome), I
believe it has the option to automatically connect to a particular network.
Make sure that you set network manager and its applet to be started at boot
(for network manager) and login (for the applet).
Secondly, I would like i8kmon to start automatically when i boot, but i
