Well, we keep getting closer.  This is not the full auto one usually 
expects from USB Flash device use, but "pmount sdb1" (in my case) lets 
me read and write to /media/sdb1 no problem.

That will certainly do until something better comes along.

I assume that you did a self configured install of 6.0.6, as my built up from the disk desktop mounts my flash drive to /media/sda1, and opens in on my desktop in Konqueror.

Are you wanting that sort of behavior, and why don't you just tell us what's up with your install?
