Oops, I just realized this is the kubuntu list.

If you want to use Kubuntu Dapper Drake instead you can get it from:
http://us.releases.ubuntu.com/kubuntu/6.06/

More information about Kubuntu 6.06 LTS Beta is at:
http://kubuntu.org/announcements/dapper-beta.php

If you're only using it as a file and print server it doesn't really
matter matter which CD you download (Ubuntu or Kubuntu) because you
can install in server mode.

See the following link for how to install in server mode and a
detailed tutorial about the steps to set up a Ubuntu based server
(Ubuntu 5.10 - Breezy Badger) to act as file- and print server for
Windows workstations in small workgroups.
http://www.howtoforge.com/samba_setup_ubuntu_5.10

Your PC doesn't meet the RAM requirements for installing a desktop system.
See: http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/breezy/main/installer-i386/current/doc/manual/en/ch03s04.html

However, a user has reported success installing Xubuntu on a K6 233
with 64 megs of RAM:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=474217

For step by step instructions on how to install Xubuntu see:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/InstallingXubuntu

Let us know if you run into any problems or have any questions and how
things turn out.
