I'm not that interested in installing the linux image, just the source
and compiling myself. Just wondering that the ubuntu patches are (I
know the debian people applies some patches on top of the mainstream
kernel). One thing that was nice about Debian, was that they provide a
deb package of their patches, so you could download the mainstream
kernel, and just apply the debian patches. Don't have to wait for the
deb kernel people to patch and upload a new kernel.
