problems

    Hello 
 
  Well , i'm a  new kubuntu user , and as usual i had some troubles , could you help me,please?
 
 My systems is this 
 
 Processor     >Athlon AMD 64 (x86_64) 2800+   1.81 GHz
 Mother Booard >MSI 7135 Ver:1 Neo
 HD            >SATA Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm ST3120827AS 120 GB
 RAM           >1 GB  DDR 200 MHz
 Video         >Nvidia GeForce4 MX 440 AGP8x de 128MB
 Monitor       >Samsung SyncMaster 551v
                   >DVDrw,floppy,usb 1.1 y 2.0
 
 when i began the install process  with dapper drake  it just hang!!  
 i read the help files , so i tried to chage the memory recognition , at the boot prompt , whith something like   mem=512m  but it doesn't work  , are there some extra instructions to install kubuntu dapper drake ?
