Setting KDEHOME on KUbuntu: Where to do that?

Hello,

I want to try to use my home-Partition with my Suse 9.3 and KUbuntu.
Therefor I would need to set $KDEHOME different on KUBUNTU. Just to
avoid trouble caused by different KDE-Versions.

Which place would be the appropriate place to do so?

P.S.: It is just for testing, I know about the risks, and I have a backup.
