I had the not so smart idea to upgrade from Hoary to Breezy just to
install install Mono.
After replacing the appropriated sources.lists entries, with a few of
"sudo aptitude update", "sudo aptitude install" and "sudo aptitude
dist-upgrade", my new system his here.
The problem is that now the internet connection doesn't work anymore.
I have a DSL modem connected to an ethernet port, that acts as DHCP
server. Shortly after networking starts("/etc/init.d/networking
start"), all works well, but some seconds after (I think 30 second
after, when the DHCP lease is over) it doesn't work anymore and I have
to restart the networking again. Of course this is very annoying.
I wonder if someone can tell me if some of the net autoconfiguration's
stuff is changed during the transition from 5.04 to 5.10, as I think
there is a problem with some older configuration file laying around.
The solution I though of is to download from another computer the
install CD of Breezy and reinstall over.
