Getting printing started.

Hi list,
I'm new to K/Ubuntu, you'ld be best to think of me as a Suse refugee. I have
Kububtu 5.04 running.

I am having no success with getting my USB printer to work. I beleive it is
configured correctly, it appears in the KDE printer manager for instance, but
nothing prints from it. It's an Epson C66, configured as a C64, just like it
was on my Suse 9.2 install and was found as a USB device when I started to
install a printer.

Print Manager seems happy to try and print, ie, I get no error messages.

Suggestions then please as to what to fiddle with to coax it into life? Might
it be a permissions or group problem Like I had getting sound to work for an
additional log-in.

It might be a CUPs problem, seeing as I'm not having much luck getting admin
rights over it, even though I've done a

Colin at ubuntu:~$ sudo lppasswd -a ubuntu

to det a user up. Is there anything unusual I should know about CUPS and
Kubuntu?
