Try uncommenting (removing the # of) the first line of your sources.list file 
in /etc/apt/sources.list - right-click it and then actions click 'edit as 
root'. The first line should have something like:
deb cdrom:[Kubuntu 5.10...]/

After that do: sudo apt-get update in the console (maybe it would be better if 
you put the CD before you do that) then use apt to download what you want 
from the CD.
Such as - sudo apt-get install mozilla-firefox
