There isn't any direct method to do what you're trying from the command line.  
However, using the "-F <other.muttrc>" option you can specify a muttrc file 
other than the default (default is ~/.muttrc in case you want to modify that 
one).

"man muttrc" for the details on how to specify pop/smtp/imap server details.
