It did not seem to work, I put below the output of the console. I also
commented out "mtu 1492" and made sure it was saved. I still need to
run pppoeconf every time I login to start my Internet connection.
scott at kubuntu:~$ sudo pppoeconf
Password:
Plugin rp-pppoe.so loaded.
scott at kubuntu:~$ poff
/usr/bin/poff: /bin/kill failed. None stopped.
scott at kubuntu:~$ pon
/usr/sbin/pppd: In file /etc/ppp/peers/provider: unrecognized option
'/dev/modem '
You also may have misunderstood me. My connection quality is perfect, I
just need to run ppoeconf every time now to connect to the internet when
before I use to only need to run PPPoeconf once and then the computer
would connect automatically at startup.
