First, thanks for the prompt replies from all, appreciated,

OK, I have downloaded the file to my desktop.

using   sudo dpkg -i /desktop/pikdev0.8.1-1_i386.deb

enter my password

response:-cannot access archive, no such file or directory.

 From what I can see I have not made any typos in the file name so can I
install
from the desktop or do I need to put it into another directory?

Also, sorry, how do I get the fonts larger in the terminal window ?
Running 1024 by 768 and have
edited the xconfig file to give me a 70hz refresh rate and most things
fine except the terminal window.
Maybe I just need bigger glasses !!!!!!!!!

Gosh this command line stuff takes a bit of getting used to after a
lotta years away from dos !!!!!!

Cheers and thanks

Rob Payne
