Printer help needed

OK, without more details, it's hard to give you a definite answer. But
if you start the KDE's Control Centre->Peripherals->Printers, you can
then Add a Printer. A little wizard-like window will appear, and you
will be able to select the connection (parallel port presumably), and
the driver from a list. That will configure CUPS, the printer server
on your Linux box.
Such a common printer is well supported and should work without
re-installing or anything. Give that a go, and see if it works,
