I missed this too. Regular Ubuntu has a root terminal, if it's not
terribly difficult I don't see why Kubuntu should be different.
KDE is excellent in allowing me to manage my machine from the GUI, but
there are enough instances (wireless network troubleshooting, package
management) that I have to use the terminal to manage my machine that
I miss a root window.
