What to put on menus in Kubuntu

My biggest gripe in the menus is that system tools carry over to menus
between KDE and Gnome so it can sometimes be confusing as to which to
launch.
For example I keep looking for Synaptic in Kubuntu, but I end up
finding this add and remove programs app from Gnome.
