cd player not recognizing CD

Not a dumb question at all. In fact, doesn't eject the CD. I've since done a 
little digging in the KDE Control Center (why isn't it called Kontrol 
Center?), and learned that I was configured to look at /dev/audiocd for my cd 
drive, rather than /dev/hdb. I've since changed that in the control center, 
but the KScd still isn't happy.
