Installling non-k/ubuntu programs

It seems that i answered Cougar directly, sorry
this is my answer.



I am not a kubuntu expert i have just used it for 14 days 
 
RPM is a format used by red hat, suse + +
deb is used by debian, ubuntu + +
src is used by all 


src is good but i guess deb is the easiest.

I downloaded adobe acrobat reader 7 rpm and used alien to "convert" to
deb and installed 
so you can use both/all
