Well I did as you suggested, rebooted and had many errors trying to login 
(can't start dcop, something about it and dhcppc 0, x server grumbles and 
finally KDE failed to start followed by an error about Konserve).  I went 
back and found group.bak and something else I now forget.  Used those 
backups, still failed.  I went into Freenode on IRC and into #kubuntu where I 
was given the "Why did you delete that user" and "I doubt it was a UID of 0", 
etc.  No help.  I am back on my FC3 drive and I am gonna put Kubuntu/KDE 3.4 
aside for a while, too many bugs (this all began due to KUser not operating 
properly).  Thanks for the pointers though.
