Firefox and gnome dependencies

Are there any other kubuntu users who want firefox to be their default
browser? It is compiled against lots of things that are not needed if
you choose not to run gnome. Maybe what's needed is a more vanilla
package for mozilla like the one debian provides.

Should I submit a bug against firefox because of its gnome dependencies
or would that be banging my head against a wall?
