numlockx

Greetings,
I've been a confirmed SuSE user for several years and just installed
kubuntu - good-bye SuSE! 

Question tho - how do I get numlockx to apply the Xsessions?  I set LED=
+num in console-tools and the numlock led comes on during boot but goes
out when KDE loads.  I have tried apt-get but it says there is no such
package; I fetched numlockx from Sourceforge but 'make' fails apparently
because it expects an earlier version of X. I might have a similar
problem with KBear but think it is simply a path issue that can be
resolved.

One more question while I'm here - does anyone know how to make the text
(titles, selections, etc.)of Firefox larger (but I'm at the moment
beginning to think Konquerer is superior anyway - much faster, that is
for sure)?
