issue during install with grub

This has been happening for a few dev cycles now, and I am just curious as
to what I should do about the following issue.

The issue arises with grub when you use a bootable usb to install the os.
What happens when you say yes to installing grub to the MBR grub gets
installed to the MBR of the usb device. I have a work around, but it would
be nice to get a permanent fix for this issue. Is it still possible to
potentially get this fixed for 14.04 and also any fixes pushed upstream?

I will file a bug but against what? Ubiquity?
