problems with Karmic Daily and VMWare Workstation 6.5.1

Good evening,

Tried to install Karmic Daily today in a new VM and upon starting the live
cd I was unable to use the mouse at all.  Tried to install the system but
never got past "Detecting file systems 15%"

Default VM settings, nothing special


Any ideas?
