Q: Why does Kubuntu exist?

Hello

After a tour through several distributions I got an Debian sid. It was very
cool because:
 - nice package management
 - ongoing versions of software packages
But I was a bit disappointet about a lot updates and sometimes about the not
well tested packages. (Debian sid is their dev-version) And then some evening
I heard about Ubuntu which is based on Debian and delivers all 6 month a new
release with the latest software. I was impressed about the idea, because it
combined my favourite Distro with stability and lesser updates.

So I tried to install Warty and was impressed again about the easy install and
the "just works" feeling. But after a while I was not happy with Gnome so I
installed the KDE packages and then I was really happy. :-) (Kubuntu didn't
exists at this time)

So Kubuntu is for me:
 - just works
 - debian-based
 - latest software
 - stable
And all this with KDE! :-) A description in one sentence for new users? Maybe
like this: "Kubuntu brings you the power of Ubuntu to a different graphical
user interface, called KDE."

Keep on the good work!

Best regards, emonkey
