kubuntu live will not boot on my athlon 2700+ (fwd)

It was suggested that I should forward this to kubuntu-dev.
I did take a digital photo of the (failure to) boot screen and I can
e-mail that to the appropriate people.
I have successfully installed ubuntu on the athlon that will not boot
kubuntu live.

I am not asking you to help me directly. However I thought you might want
to know about this boot failure of Kubuntu Live since Ubuntu Live ran just
fine on the same Athlon. If you want the photo of the failure screen I
will e-mail it to you. I think there is a bug in your installation code in
relation to Athlon CPUs. The boot code seemed to identify by CPU as an
Athlon 1500+ while in fact it is an Athlon 2700+.
This is NOT a 64 bit Athlon, incidently.
