Nope they don't. Even in Hoary, this used to happen, though only
occassionally. Restarting HAL used to work. In Breezy, upon running

sudo /etc/init.d/dbus restart

I get the following error in media:/ The KDE Mediamanager is not running.

Btw, either the HAL package of Breezy has an error, or there is some problem
in the upgrade from Hoary to Breezy: the parameter --drop-priveleges has been
removed, and instead a new --keep-priveleges has been added. Just to let you
know ...

Also, the Breezy package doesn't seem to have /etc/hal/device.d (actually
others too are missing). The only entries I see under /etc/hal are hald.conf
and fdi/

Is there some other package I must install to get HAL/media:/ to work ?
