Normal just means unchallenged status quo. Change towards improvement is
suppose to be the driving force behind all development.
The dialog boxes are inconsistent then because some dialog boxes are
normal small windows but others are the bloated space hogs. They are all
suppose to be the latter. My guess is it involves the different calls
from a program to the window manager. Some calls are well defined dialog
boxes , usually I note with icons defined by the programmer ,and others
which are general calls with system fonts and text entry fields or radio
buttons. So you could say it is a programmers responsibility to make the
call. If it is plasma netbook interface would that be the package
involved here? So should all dialog calls should be defined by the
window manager? A Measurement of all text and buttons to be included in
a box, with defined edges. You make the call. From the two different
dialog boxes in use I would presume it is the window manager making the
call based on the content.
Another option is a preference for defining how general dialog boxes are
defined. BECAUSE its a netbook they should be small enough to handle
WITHIN the screen.
I started to mention that in Kajongg when I clicked the box with arrows
in the corners pointing inward the dialog box would cut to about half
the screen and you could drag it around to see or use the underlying
screen. I recently updated a bunch of system packages and now the little
box which I presume means make smaller doesn't do anything for any
window now. It is fine with the system permission page, the attached
picture, I thought it was a "security feature" so you just entered your
password and couldn't mess around with the calling window, Muon package
handler on my system, but after receiving the message from Wolfgang
about the synaptic program and today when I was renaming files it hit me
fully that all instances of the full-screen-what-should-be-dialog-boxes
were in fact all the same issue.
