  Kubuntu 12.04, Libreoffice 3.5.2.2 + lo-menubar
  
  Almost every single time I launch Writer, Calc or Draw, they start
  completely frozen - presumably freeze the moment Window Menubar tries to
  "grab" it's menu - and, as stated in title, forcing them to quit crashes
  Plasma, both the Desktop and the Netbook .  The issue seems not to
  affect the Impress, or, more likely, It just hasn't occured there yet.
  
- Under GNOME everything is fine, so it's rather neither Office itself nor
- lo-menubar.
+ When running from terminal, there is no output when this bug occurs,
+ likely due to an instant freeze.
