I know that the problem with the KDE program itself (I already filed the
report there).

I just wanted to make the Kubuntu team aware of the problem, so that
they may be able to lend a hand to the KDE people to get this serious
problem fixed in time for the Lucid release.

If the problem remains there is a chance that users see Kubuntu as being
"unusable" if they can not connect to their networks. And from what I've
seen on the KDE bug report this issue is massive, as it seems to impact
all static IP addresses and therefore has an impact on many Kubuntu
users.
