I just upgraded to Jaunty from Intrepid x64 and got the same thing.

KPackageKit just hung on "Querying/Getting Dependencies" so I tried apt-
get instead. I saw KDE going away and hit control C. Maybe not the best
idea?

To repair I first had to run

sudo dpkg --configure -a

and then copied/pasted the uninstalled stuff listed on the screen, a
dozen or so at a time, into

sudo apt-get install

Seems to be fine now.

Is there a better way to undo the damage?
