I made a test package:
http://ppa.launchpad.net/medigeek/ppa/ubuntu/pool/main/g/gdebi/
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23055442/gdebi_0.4.3_0.4.3~ppajaunty1.diff.gz

User vistakiller has tried it out and a crash was reported:
