Interestingly, the last few lines of my daemon.log look like this:
Feb 22 05:25:54 the-beast kdm[3640]: X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly
Feb 22 05:25:54 the-beast acpid: client connected from 4507[0:0]
Feb 22 05:25:55 the-beast kdm_greet[4548]: Cannot open default user face
Feb 22 05:30:02 the-beast console-kit-daemon[3414]: WARNING: Unable to activate console: No such device or address
Feb 22 05:30:02 the-beast kdm[3640]: X server for display :0 terminated unexpectedly
Feb 22 05:30:02 the-beast acpid: client connected from 5328[0:0]
Feb 22 05:30:03 the-beast kdm_greet[5373]: Cannot open default user face
Feb 22 05:30:08 the-beast acpid: client connected from 5388[0:0]
Feb 22 05:30:09 the-beast kdm_greet[5397]: Cannot open default user face
I also checked the Xorg.0.Log but the only error in there is:
[ 0.399600] (EE) RADEON(0): Acceleration initialization failed
Which I'm assuming is just because the ATI driver doesn't do desktop
effects?
