Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: kaffeine
Once in a while when I change DVB channel or press play after having a
pause while watching a video, Kaffeine freezes. The text "pause" is left
on the on-screen-display and the Kaffeine window goes gray.
This happens at random. Most of the time Kaffeine works great and there
are no problems when I change channel or play/pause videos.
When I look at the processes running with the Gnome System Monitor, the
Kaffeine process seems to be at sleep while waiting for channel
"futex_wait".
I'm running Ubuntu 8.10 with all the latest updates. My DVB card is
Satelco Easy Watch DVB-C PCI.
Steps to reproduce:
1. open Kaffeine
2. keep the DVB on for a while
3a. change channels until at some random point, Kaffeine will freeze
3b. play any video and press pause/play until at some random point, Kaffeine will freeze
Results:
- the OSD will show the text "pause"
- I Kaffeine is in full screen mode, the only way to recover is pressing Ctrl+Alt+Backspace (Kaffeine is freezed and does not shutdown on Alt+F4 or anything.
Please help me how to debug this!
