Public bug reported:
Description: Ubuntu jaunty (development branch)
Release: 9.04
Package kdebase-workspace-bin 4:4.2.0-0ubuntu4
Settings the DPMS settings in PowerDevil doesn't work.
Seps to Reproduce:
1. From the Battery Mointor Plasma Applet, select 'More...' to open the KDE
power management configuration window.
2. Select 'Let PowerDevil manage screen powersaving'
3. Under 'Edit Profiles' choose the 'Powersave' profile, 'Screen' tab. Set the
brightness slider to a low value, select 'Enable display power management' and
set 'Standby After' to 1 minute.
4. Click 'OK'.
5. Return to the Battery Monitor Applet and choose 'Powersave' from the
drop-down list. The screen brightness will not change, and the screen will not
go into power saving after one minute, or ever.
This has been fixed upstream, see :
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178642
It would be good to have this fixed in Kubuntu, as not having monitor
powersaving really ruins battery life.
** Affects: kdebase (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
