Same problem here, the trouble started when I installed the official Kubuntu KDE
3.5 packages in my Breezy two days ago. Ever since the upgrade arts reliably
carshes as soon as KDE has finished loading up.

This bug is also filed at KDE's bugzilla, there you can also find my backtrace.
Furthermore it looks like the people at gentoo have found a solution.
