[Bug 41031] Volume in gnome screwed up

Description:
My volume control in ubuntu gnome was working great, then I installed
kubuntu-desktop with synaptic.  Suddenly my volume + and - are reversed
and when I drag the handle towards the + it goes towards the - and vice
versa.  The only change I made is install kubuntu desktop.  Kde works OK
though.  Related to bug# 36070.
