[Bug 40683] Fonts extremely small post 21APR06 updates

Description:
The only thing I know for certain is that after all the updates were
applied via 'apt-get dist-upgrade' the system-wide fonts were extremely
tiny.  The first installation off the media yielded at least readable
fonts, unlike after the 21APR06 updates which included many KDE-specific
ones.

The first update contained 57 pkgs, by the time I had recovered a backup
and made the 2nd attempt the list was 80.  Both times the fonts' sizes
system-wide went from readable to a 9-pt unreadable.  Firefox would not
change no matter what I did.  It's fonts were set to 16-pt (prefs)...
but were 8-pt at best.

I am very certain that this is KDE-specific because I have been applying
daily updates, as available, without this font problem.  I have the
update history going back to 09APR06, if it'll help.  Let me know.
