I really feel that we should not go the Microsoft way
with circular links in the directory structure and whatnot.

eg Mycomputer is a folder on the c: drive somewhere
but contains itself the C: drive. 
WTF?

Why not simply keep a straight tree structure?
If this is not what you wish then please make a consistent
system and not bolt on a system: directory thingie
