[Quantal] pull-request: i915 backlight control fixes

These i915 backlight patches (cherry-picked from upstream v3.6-rc1)
enable non-functional brightness controls for various laptops including
the Dell XPS 13.

Bug reference: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/954661

This exact patch set has been in use in the HWE Sputnik kernel PPA for
several months[1].

Please consider applying these to Quantal.
