I have reverted the ES1.0 support (just deactivate ES1.0 support in menuconfig - see patch here [1]) on top of your kernel. This shall be the default kernel config for 2.6.35 OMAP4.
I tested the following on my ES2.0 pandaboard:
 - boot at 1GHz and with 1GB
 - USB (keyboard, mouse, USB key)
 - ethernet
 - HDMI and DVI screen
(I ran these tests with a Maverick UNE file-system.)

I do not have an optimal resolution on my DVI screen, and on the HDMI screen I tested, only the 60% top of the screen were used, so there is still some work on display setup, but this is not blocking.
(moreover, I still need to align with latest updates in display driver. I'll provide you patch updates if needed)
