Backport ed3da3d9a0ef13c6fe1414ec73c9c1be12747b62 from sound-2.6 to fix
erratic
hw-ptr behaviour exhibited in glitch-free PulseAudio, crummy
playback/capture
recording via direct ALSA, and a shedload other conditions.
