Keep extraversions for Ubuntu kernsl

We discussed this and the current thought is to add this to 
/proc/version_signature as:

pgraner at moltar:~$ cat /proc/version_signature
Ubuntu 2.6.27-7.16-generic (2.6.27.x)

would that work?
