Hello List,
i am not sure if this is a Kernel issue, but we are having massive
problems with writing to DVDRAM. Our DVD-Drive even becomes unuseable or
disapears after a reboot.
In fact, we have already used 2 diffrent DVD-Writer (both LG GSA-4166B)
and a few DVD-RAM Disks.
Let?s start what we have so far:
- Ubuntu 6.06 LTS
- DVD-Device: LG GSA-4166B Build Oct2005
- DVD-Media: DVD-RAM from Verbatim, 3x certified, 4,7GB
- Kernel 2.6.23.1 build with:
make oldconfig
make-kpkg clean
make-kpkg --initrd --revision=custom.1.0 kernel_image
base on the config attached.
I formatted the DVD-RAM with the command:
mkudffs --spartable=2 --media-type=dvdram /dev/hdc
From the Boot-Dmesg:

All we really do is to mount the drive to /tmp/mnt and write/read/delte
files with rsync, rm, ls.

Has anyone an idea how i can get rid of those errors?
Thanks, Mario
