Summary: [Hoary] Dependency chain leading to linux-kernel-headers
                    2.5.999-test7-bk-17
           Product: Ubuntu
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: minor
          Priority: P2
         Component: linux-kernel-headers
        AssignedTo: jbailey at ubuntu.com
        ReportedBy: jjchico at dte.us.es
                CC: kernel-team at lists.ubuntu.com

I am following the current development branch (Hoary).
I found installed what seems to be an obsoleted package: linux-kernel-header
2.5.999-test7-bk-17.
Trying to remove it also removes "ubuntu-desktop". Following the dependency
chain I find:

ubuntu-desktop -> lsb -> libc6-dev | libc-dev -> linux-kernel-headers

On the other side, updated linux-headers-* packages exit that provide virtual
package "linux-headers". It seems a minor probles probably related to
some changing naming schemes. Possible solutions (non-exclusive):

1) Make libc6-dev depend on linux-headers instead of linux-kernel-headers
2) Make linux-headers-* packages provide linux-kernel-headers in addition to
linux-headers.

Best regards.

jorge.
