Upgraded to 10.10 on 10 October. Multiple suspends, etc. since. NO
PROBLEMS. I AM HAPPY. So, whatever was done between June and now fixed
it. Is there some way to do a delta on the likely culprits?

For what it's worth; I actually put that laptop on the shelf and did not
use it for nearly four months because this issue was such a pain.
