I have the same problem on the Toshiba Satellite A215-S4697.
2.6.32-25-generic kernel, x86_64 build, Ubuntu 10.04
This happened immediately after updating the kernel with Update Manager.

Small differences: 
1. Although the problem does start when I work on battery, occasionally the problem will also occur while on AC power.
2. Along with this error, the TTY terminals also spam "ath5k phy0: noise floor calibration timeout," alternating between the errors.
3. The problem once didn't occur while on battery, but I have yet to re-create it.
