[Bug 251781] [NEW] Unable to mount USB memory devices

It was working flawesly in this same version of ubuntu Hardy Heron. After some rutinary updates automouting for usb memory sticks and mp3 players have stopped working. If I go to the computer:/// in nautilus (using gnome here) and click on the usb icon an error message is displayed: "no se pudo montar el lugar. no se pudo montar el archivo" ("not possible to mount the device. Not possible to mount the file"). Mounting from the shell ( mount -v -t vfat -o noatime /dev/sdd /media/sdd1
) only works for one of my 3 memory devices (a sansa clip mp3 player). The other two (kingston memory stick and an old easy system mp3 player) the command returns: 
" wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sdd,
       missing codepage or helper program, or other error".

The weird thing is the 3 devices mount flawesly in my other linux distro
(gentoo)...

Expecting: it should be possible to mount the devices from computer:///
in nautilus or even they should automount themselves. If not, they
should be mountable from the command line with the "mount" command.
