Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: vmware-server-kernel-modules

I installed vmware-server from the repositories with
"sudo apt-get install vmware-server vmware-server-kernel-modules"

Installation worked ok and I can start the vmware console. But whenever
I try to start a vm, I fails with an error message.

"Unable to change virtual machine power state: The process exited with
an error: End of error message"

server console v. 1.0.3 build 44356
VMware Server 1.0.3 build-44356
running Ubuntu Feisty with kernel 2.6.20-16-generic

When starting form the console, I get following warning
"/usr/lib/vmware-server/bin/vmware: /usr/lib/vmware-server/lib/libpng12.so.0/libpng12.so.0: no version information available (required by /usr/lib/libcairo.so.2)"

** Affects: linux-meta (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: Unconfirmed
